Term 1 Missing/Late work

I will be accepting Term 1 missing/late work until Friday, October 12th at 3:00 pm. Please email me if you have any questions.

Keep practicing!

Keep practicing. I recommend 10 minutes a day. That's all as long as it is a focused practice and not just goofing around. You will see a huge improvement in your students playing if they practice just 10 minutes a day. I also recommend using the IPS link that comes with their book.

Midterms!

It's midterms next week! Please log into Aspire and check your missing work! Also, if you have any questions or concerns about grades feel free to email me.

Instruments!/IPS computer practice program

We have been working hard on learning how to take care of our instruments and how to start making noises on the mouthpieces. The percussionists also learned how to put together their stands with their practice pads. We will be starting to learn how to read music and to play our first notes together as a band. I really recommend that students practice 10 minutes a day and that they use the online resources that come in the back of their book. You can download a free app to your phone or tablet, or you can download the program to your computer. This downloads their method book on your device and allows them to practice at their speed. They will be able to hear if they are playing the right noises. This is also helpful to you parents since you will know what they are supposed to sound like. Please email me if you have any questions about IPS or how it works. There is a code in the front of their book with the instructions on how to download it.
