Welcome to Reading!  I'm delighted to have your student in my class! Here are a few of the expectation in the class.  I do put reading assignments on my web page as needed. 

Homework for your child each night will be home reading.  Please have your child read at least 20-30 minutes each night.  Reading Logs are sent out the first day of each month, and they are due back the first day of each month for that previous months reading. Please fill out the Book Report on the back of the Reading Log.

My emphasis with this class is on fluency and comprehension and introducing them to the many genres and literary terms associated with reading. In 3^rd grade we like the students to begin reading from Chapter books.
