5th period Orchestra assignment for April 27 - May 1

7th grade (5th period) Orchestra students will need to complete two assignments this week that they should have been practicing for the last few weeks.  They need to video themselves performing any 20 measures of "Immortal Gladiator" and send the video to me or they may perform for the Wednesday zoom conference.   The second part of the assignment is that they need to click on the String Basics Book 2 test on this website and complete the google quiz.  These are all due by this Friday May 1st by 4pm.

"Stay Calm Everyone" by Savannah West

Another great composition from one of our 8th graders, Savannah West with a fitting title for our time! Thanks for sharing Savannah!

Avengers Theme arranged by Dallas Zobell

Dallas, a Reagan Academy 7th grader arranged this piece. Another great example of hard work going on! Thanks Dallas for sharing!

Quarantine by Sarah Snelson

Sarah, an 8th grader at Reagan Academy, composed this song on Noteflight (a composing program) we use at Reagan Academy. It is one of the songs we have been playing together online during our video conferencing classes. This is just one example of the fine compositions students are producing during this time. Nice job Sarah!

Noteflight assignment for April 13 - 17th

If you choose the Noteflight assignment this week, it is to compose at least a 16 measure song using any rhythms or notes you learned in Book 2 this year.  This is due by Friday April 17th at 1pm.  Thanks!

My dear students!

Exciting news!  JWPepper has offered to digitally let us use their music for free until June 30th.  You need to go to https://www.jwpepper.com/sheet-music/sharemusic/

At the bottom of the page it will say "have an access code?"  It is really important you put in the exact letters and symbols of the code I give you.  It is best to copy and paste it in the box.  I have emailed that special code to your parents so be sure and have them check their emails from me.  (Because of copyright and security issues, I can't put the code on my public website.)

Once you put in the correct access code, it will show you Julie Ahlborn is sharing 2 music pieces and they are Believer and DC Comic Super Heroes that I was going to have 5th and 7th period orchestras learn.  You then click on the song you want to open first.  You notice it opens to the teacher score first.  You want to get your individual part so go to the left where it says score and click on the pull down tab and find your part.  If you usually play the 2nd or 3rd violin part then please learn that part --but you are more than welcome to play the 1st violin part for fun!  Notice you can't download or print the copies unless you pay for them.  You are free to play the digital copy all you want and you may also want to purchase your own copy too.

If you want to hear the DC Comics Super Heroes music and play along with it then here is the link:
