Current Retake Procedures: The current method, allows students to earn 50% back on their score by completing a Test Retake Assignment. This has to be manually entered and unfortunately hides the student's original test score in the Aleks gradebook.
New Retake Procedures: Students will be provided 2 opportunities to take tests. If students are not happy with their first score they can retake the test. The highest score will be kept. Students will be encouraged to study and practice prior to taking the retake as needed. If after 2 attempts the student is still unhappy with their score they should talk with Miss Plant regarding individual interventions to help improve their grade and/or performance.
Why? This will allow parents and students to accurately view performance on reports and in the gradebook while still allowing students the chance to improve their performance.
