I am so excited to begin another school year! I am always eager to meet my new students and continue getting to know the students that I've had before. I had a wonderful summer and hope you did as well!

As the school year begins, I'd like to introduce myself. I am a mom to a beautiful daughter that was adopted from Taiwan and a foster mom to a boy in Romania. I have always loved working with children and can't wait to continue doing so. This is my eighth year at Reagan Academy teaching Special Education, English as a Second Language, and a World Cultures elective! I also love to host our annual Geography Bee and encourage students to learn about the world. I enjoy reading books, dancing, eating delicious food, sleeping in, and doing outdoor activities. My favorite thing to do is travel and go on trips!

I believe every student can feel successful and make progress when they learn skills. When students feel they have the ability to accomplish something, it changes their mindset, and gives them the grit & motivation to succeed. As a result, I focus strongly on learning helpful skills (keeping a planner, organization, study skills, etc.) and push students to be independent.

Please take the time to go through your child's planner each day. I can't stress the importance of this enough. I teach the students on how to fill it out, and check it when their done every day. It should be taken home each night and brought back each day. This is a way for you to know exactly what the student needs to complete and when projects are coming up. It is the way your child will stay organized and feel prepared each day. I encourage you to help your child make this a good habit.

If you have any questions or would like to talk to me about your child please reach out to me. I would love to help in any way. I appreciate your support this year and look forward to working with you!
