Movement and Art at Home

There are many ways to continue to support movement and art in your child's life at this unprecedented time.

Art activities are multi-sensory, minds on, hands on experiences that invite conversations and build relationships.  High level learning happens during such activities, and continues to be beneficial to people of all ages.  Art activities relax the body and refresh the mind, and help us connect with others.

Sing, dance, draw, read aloud, play outdoors, act, and pretend.  Invite your children to make art with you in a playful way.  Relax, breathe deeply and be fully present as you engage.  Listen to their ideas and reward their ideas with smiles and kindness.  Work along-side them to encourage concentration and focus.

Inspire them to improve their abilities by enjoying quality works of art together.  Listen to music, dance, sing, talk about works of art, discuss movies and books.  Set the stage, turn up the music and dance!

Posted are some sites to get you started.
