so I just want to review our quartiles and kind of how I find that so you have your five number summary and you're normally going to start with your minimum which is 3 too. So small you're going set your max which is 19 it's the biggest and then we want to find our median pay the median is going to be our dead center so we go ahead and we cross off the numbers until we get to our very center and our median here is going to be 10 now we have our lower quartile and our upper quartile quartiles the base of Court which means 4K we are essentially splitting this data set into four equal pieces like folding a paper 4 times so we need to find the median of the lower half the median of the upper half so I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go cake cross off the lowest and the biggest I've got two here in the middle so I'm going to do 4 + 7 which equals 11 and then I'm going to do divided by 2 which equals 5.5 so my lower quartile is 5.5 and it lands about here okay then I'm going to go to my upper quartile 12 + 1512 + 15 equals 27 I'm going to do 27 / 2 which is 13.5 and that lands about here now I hope you can see our data set is now divided into four sections k now we're going to have our interquartile range that just means what is the difference from here to here today so we're going to go ahead and we will do 13.5 mine 5.5 13 - 5 is eighth grade hey I'm sorry interquartile range is 8 I hope this helps you out and let me know if you have other questions
