Goodbye, 2019-2020!

Dear Parents and Students,

Wow, what a crazy year!  I really enjoyed the 2019-2020 school year and the chance to teach such amazing students.  The last term was a bummer.  The thing I missed the most was the chance to connect with each student and see the joy that comes from learning new things.  Thank you all for being awesome and I also salute all the parents that were thrown into the role of being the teacher.  It will be a memorable year that we will never forget.  Thanks for a great year.  I hope to see lots of you next year in my classes and to the 8th grade class, I will miss you guys a lot.  Come back and visit soon.

Sincerely,
Mr. Black

Future of Engineering Project

For this week we will be imaging what the future of engineering will look like.  I have attached 4 videos for you to watch.  I want you to watch the videos and then create drawings related to 3 categories: Future Home, Future Transportation, and Future Workplace.

The drawings can be images of things that you watched in the video or your own personal ideas of what you would like the future to look like.  Please spend time making the drawings look good.

My advice would be to make a page for each category with lots of brainstormed images and then make a new page with your final drawings.

For Multimedia, you will draw the pictures in a Wick Editor file and attach it to the Google form

Take photos of the drawings that you made and attach them to the Google form below. (Due on Monday, May 4)

Animated Comic Strip Using Wick Editor

We will be creating a comic strip using Wick Editor for this project.  I want you to make a 100-frame comic strip that uses speech bubbles and other aspects that you would see in a typical comic strip.  You can bring the comic strip to life by adding frame-by-frame or tween animations.

I have included a video link that shows what cartoon strips look like to help you with your ideas.  Your comic strip will not just be pictures but will have moving characters and images.

You will submit your file to me by attaching it in an email.  It is due Monday, April 27.
