Social Studies

 

 

 

 

Social Studies is one of my favorite things to teach.  We get to bring in some fun learning in Social Studies.  This year we will start off be learning about how to read maps and a little about our nation and world.  There will rarely be any homework in Social Studies but their may be an some study guides sent home to review for end of unit tests.  More information will come about that.

 

This year we will be studying Americans Moving West.  Along with that  will be learning about the indigenous cultures of Utah.  We will move on to learning a lot about what it means to be a good citizen and follow that up with some fun activities on Immigration.  We will next learn about the War of 1812 and how that prepared our nation.  Next, we will learn about some of Civil Rights Leaders and the impact they had on our country.  Finally, we will study the Civil War, Ancient Greece and possibly India.  Social Studies is usually a favorite of many of the students.
