We are off to a fantastic start in P.E.

Parents, please help your child remember to wear running shoes on the day they come to P.E. If they are wearing slip on shoes or boots, they need to bring an extra pair of shoes in their backpacks.

Next week 3rd-6th grade will be starting softball. If your child has his/her own mitt, they are welcome to bring it to class with them. We do have mitts at the school for their use if they do not bring one from home.

Welcome Back!!!

I am So So excited to see you back. It has been a long summer and I have missed seeing your amazing faces.

Parents: This year is going to be much different than any other year. Unfortunately P.E. is not an exception to the mask rule. Students will need to wear a mask in class. Depending on the activity and setting (inside/outside) for our activity that day, masks MIGHT be able to be removed for a time, but always be prepared to have it on.

It is going to be a good idea to bring a water bottle to class every time you come to P.E. If we are outside or inside it will be beneficial to you to have it.

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:

Normally students would be required to change into athletic clothes for P.E. However, with the limitations related to social distancing it is not feasible for us to use the changing rooms this year without losing significant class time. Therefore, the requirement will simply be for students to wear shoes for P.E. that are conducive to physical activity (athletic shoes). If students are wearing non-athletic shoes to school, they should bring athletic shoes to change into for P.E.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this completely new and unfamiliar environment this year. Or goal in P.E. is to still have fun, be active and learn skills and attitudes for physical activity that can last a lifetime.

One more heads up, my daughter is getting married the first day of school, so on that day I will have a substitute. I will be back on Thursday and can't wait to see you all!

This student did not count this for physical activity, but she went and took some pictures for fun and then went home and practiced editing her pictures. I love it! Way to go!

Copy of the email I sent home regarding Daily Log Sheets

Hi everybody,

I cannot put into words how much I miss all of you. I think about you all everyday and hope you are hanging in there. I know you have so much to do but I would LOVE to get an email from you letting me know how you are doing, what you are doing to keep busy and how your families are doing. It is WAY too quiet here at school.

I REALLY miss you coming in before and after class to wait for roll call or the bell to ring, I miss our daily chats, I miss hearing you all yell, "SHE'S COMING! SHE'S COMING!" , I miss getting messages on my board, (Thankfully I did not erase them.), I miss hearing your laughs and seeing your amazing smiles.
Just a reminder, because this does affect your grade. Please, Please remember to keep a daily log of the physical activities you are doing and send them to me via email each Friday.

If you go to my school website there is a daily log sheet you can print off and use, or you can keep track on any piece of paper. Just please send it to me so I can give you credit. If you look at your grade and you have 0 points it is because I have not received your daily log for last week.
Once again, I miss you all like crazy and I hope you are all doing awesome and enjoying some extra time with family.
