Freddie the Frog and the Flying Jazz Kitten

This is a video for K-2 graders who have been going on adventures with Freddie all year. This adventure is Freddie's introduction to "Scat" a musical term for improvised singing of nonsense syllables. Please be sure and show your children the Ella Fitzgerald video link I will have here on my website so they can see "live" scatting by one of the best jazz singers!

This is how you can record yourself on Noteflight

This shows you how you can take an exercise in your book and input it into noteflight. Then record yourself playing it so I can access it and listen to you. This is a great way to do a playing test!!

3rd Grade Music for week of March 16 - 20

Hello 3rd graders!
Happy St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday March 17th!  Here are some videos about the history of St. Patrick's Day.  Notice this video is a ballad (a song that tells a story).  We've talked this year about how holidays bring family, food, music and traditions together.

Middle School Orchestra Students - great news!

Noteflight has a music library with a lot of music that we can access for free!  They are digital copies only so we can't print them but you can open them, play along with them, change the melody to your clef so you can play the melody with an accompaniment.  Will you go into Noteflight and at the very top of the page, you see the icon that looks like an open book and open it?  Click on the orchestra library and have a look around!  I will be assigning my 7th period the score of Phantom of the Opera to look at next week (unless you want to sneak a peak now!)

Mrs. Griffeth's class performing My Paddle with instruments

We recorded this song in November when we learned the guitar part. Today we put together the recorder, guitar, drum and two different xylo parts to create our grand finale for recorders!
